Last week, the popular drive-in fast-food restaurant chain, known as Sonic, introduced a new breakfast option that will make you love mornings again.
The new breakfast slinger is now available at all Sonic Drive-in locations for just $1.49. Although the they already have a fully-fledged breakfast menu that includes sandwiches, burritos, and toasters, the company is now making a move to please less hungry customers.
Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic said:
Consumers are looking for a smaller breakfast sandwich, so we focused on finding the right portion size—something that is going to completely satisfy you without slowing you down. You can enjoy the Breakfast Slinger any time of the day, and it goes great with a Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee in the morning for one powerful breakfast.
Sonic’s slingers remind me of White Castle’s sliders, they’re probably a little bit bigger, but they’re just as good, and they cost less than $2 dollars, which is pretty cheap if you ask me.
There are actually two new options on Sonic’s breakfast menu, the egg, bacon, and cheese slinger, and the egg and cheese slinger. They both cost the same, they’re 240 calories each, and they’re both absolutely delicious.
The egg, bacon, and cheese slinger has crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a fluffy egg inside a bakery quality brioche bun. While, the egg and cheese slinger is exactly the same thing minus the bacon.
According to several sources, Sonic’s new slingers will be only available for a limited time. However, no one actually knows if that’s true, and if it is, no one knows when they’ll stop selling them.
