It took McDonald’s a long time to redesign its breakfast menu, but the moment is finally upon us.
The world’s biggest fast-food restaurant chain will add three new Triple Breakfast Stacks to its menu on November 1.
These new menu items are basically modified and revamped versions of existing products.
What menu items will be getting an upgrade? McGriddles, McMuffins, and biscuit sandwiches.
For a limited time, McDonald’s customers can order any of the three versions of triple breakfast stacks in-store or through McDelivery on Uber Eats at participating locations.
The new version of the McMuffins and McGriddles will offer three times as much meat, and they will also include two sausage patties, bacon, two slices of American cheese, and an egg.
All triple breakfast stacks will include the same ingredients, except for the type of bread and type of egg.
What types of egg you ask? Folded on biscuits and McGriddles, and round on McMuffins, according to company documents revealed by BI.
McDonald’s new offerings were inspired by their secret hacks menu.
Customers have been customizing their menu items for a long time, so McDonald’s wanted to show them some love by adding their best creations to the menu.
People have been hacking our menu for years—so much so it has inspired our new Triple Breakfast Stacks
Chef Mike Haracz, McDonald’s Manager of Culinary Innovation said:
“We love seeing the fun ways our customers and McDonald’s crew have been creating their own takes on our classics. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next—you never know what might end up on our menu.”
Also, customers started requesting bigger, more filling breakfast sandwiches years ago, says Linda VanGosen, vice president of menu innovation at the fast-food chain.
This is the chain’s first new breakfast sandwich since 2013 when the company introduced the Egg White Delight McMuffin. It’s also the first major breakfast menu revamp since McDonald’s launched the McGriddle sandwich, 15 years ago.
I’m sure true McDonald’s fans were expecting more items, especially after waiting this long. But hey, at least they’re making progress, don’t you think?
